There was a time when Michin had Chelsea Green’s number. As Mia Yim, she beat Green twice in NXT and once in Impact (TNA) Wrestling. But my, oh my, how the tables have turned.
Since September, Green has won three of their last four singles encounters. This includes a win over Michin on Saturday Night’s Main Event to become the first Women’s United States Champion. Last Friday on SmackDown, Green got the best of Michin again in her first-ever title defense. During the match, Michin got fresh with Green’s running buddy, Piper Niven, who came dressed looking like Michael Jackson at Motown 25, sans glove.
After Green emerged victorious, thanks to pulling Michin’s tights, Niven did more than try to break a young girl’s heart, as she crushed Michin with a senton splash. Later, during a social media exclusive, Michin went crying to Byron Saxton about how WWE’s two alleged mean girls cheated to win.
“Of course, I came up short,” Michin wailed. “It was 1 v. 2. It’s 1 v. 2 every single time with them. That’s all they do, is bending the rules. I try so hard to be good, so hard to follow the rules. And if she is gonna go that way, if she wants to bend the rules and play it by her own game, say less then. If that’s what you wanna do, if that’s how you wanna play, say less. ‘Cause it’s gonna be game, set, match, bitch!”
Here at Cageside Seats, we have celebrated Michin in the past. Unfortunately, her complaints fall on deaf ears on this go-round. Instead of swearing like The Rock while crying like a baby, Michin should look in the mirror and realize she’s the problem.
Instead of whining about the numbers advantage, round up a crew. Make a friend and ask them to watch your back. If you find that Green and Niven are getting the best of you because it’s “1 v. 2,” that’s on you for continuing to run solo. In the immortal words of Michael Jordan, “Stop it. Get some help.”
Now, as far as Michin breaking her arm to pat herself on the back for not taking shortcuts, please. Maybe such noble behavior has earned her a cookie, but I’m going to be brutally honest with Michin. To get to where you want to be, sometimes, you need to be willing to jaywalk.
While Michin’s blubbering to Byron Saxton about following the rules, Green and Niven are enjoying a night on the town. Heck, I’ll bet that US Title is serving as a wonderful accessory for the stylish duo.
So, here’s my advice to Michin: get over yourself, get some friends, and go get that title. Or, stock up on Kleenex. Whatever you choose, just stop cursing. It’s supposed to be a family show, goddammit.
